Our Courses

All our online courses begin with a welcome video, along with learning objectives and learning outcomes. Each course is then broken down into modules. Each module contains the topic material in written format with subject matter videos, exercises and practical tasks. Each course then has a 20 multiple choice question test, to check core knowledge and understanding of the subject, along with a course summary video.

Understanding Equality and Diversity in the Workplace

Equality means people have equal rights, opportunities and statuses, despite many people mistakenly thinking that it means everybody is treated identically, due to the fact that this would not benefit people in the same way. Diversity is the process of recognising and accepting that people are different, from various genders, ages, races, beliefs and ethnicities, to religions and sexual orientation.

This course will begin by giving an overview of equality and diversity, before explaining discrimination. It will also look into the ways in which an individual can work to become more self-aware and make sure they are not purposely or inadvertently showing any form of discrimination.

The common issues that prevent equality and diversity are also outlined, understanding the impact of the Equality Act 2010. This is a legal responsibility within workplaces to ensure that everybody within an organisation works to promote equality and diversity.

Effective Team Leadership

A business or organisation can benefit dramatically from having effective leadership. Effective leaders demonstrate passion, support, knowledge and teamwork alongside other traits. While not everybody is born with these strengths, through learning and practicing, anybody can become a great leader, enabling a business or organisation to succeed.

This course will look into the benefits of effective leadership, including the positive impact it can have on an organisation and the traits of a great leader. It will then go on to explore the differences between teams and groups, Tuckman’s stages of group development, going into the various types of leadership, how to communicate and manage performance effectively, managing change and conflict. Finally, the course will conclude by outlining the importance of equality and diversity, including the team leaders role in supporting equality.

Mental Health Awareness

According to the definition outlined by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 2016, ‘health’ is referred to as a “state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease of infirmary.”

This course will outline what mental health is. Mental health has a great impact on a person’s feelings, thoughts and actions. When a person’s mental health deteriorates, they can suffer from mental and psychological wellbeing issues, which can change the ways they make decisions and how they deal with the likes of stress. This course will also explore the various components of mental wellbeing.

Introduction to Health and Wellness

Health and Wellness is an active process of making decisions and choices that create and sustain harmony for the mind and body. It is about creating a healthier lifestyle that will lead to feeling better and looking better too.

This course will give you an understanding of the importance of health, wellness and the ability to change your own or other people’s lifestyle for the better.

Wellbeing Foundation

The Wellbeing Foundation course is great starting point for gaining and understanding overall wellbeing. It is full of useful information and practical activities that you can take away and use in your everyday lives and workplaces – either for yourselves or to support your teams.

The course is broken down into 4 areas (Growth Mindset, Mindfulness, Equality and Diversity, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Personal Development) each area has a task with it that you can do for yourself or within your work setting. You do not need to hand in any of these tasks, they are for your own personal development.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness involves focusing on what is happening now, in the present, instead of focusing on what has happened in the past or our future predictions. It allows us to identify with our past and recognise why we are who we are, but also not to let it define us. It allows us to look positively into the future by recognising that we only have control over the here and now.

Mindfulness is often perceived in much of Western society as ‘clearing your head of all thoughts’, however, this course will enable you to see that actually the opposite is true. Mindfulness is a ‘fully-conscious’ state of being that enables us to understand our thoughts and emotions, understand where they have come from and also how we can control them so that we do not become controlled by them. We are not our thoughts!

Stress Management

Stress can impact people at any time in life and can be caused by many factors. Of the 12 million people who have appointments with a GP for mental health reasons, most of these people have stress-related issues. Experiencing stress can cause major difficulties in the way people lead their lives.

This course will provide you with an introduction to stress and an overview of how to successfully manage stress in order to live a happier lifestyle. You can use what you will learn to help yourself and others.

Nutrition

Nutrition is one of the most important factors influencing our health. What you eat influences the way you feel, the way you look, the ability to utilise the energy you do have and your ability to fight off infection and disease. With obesity and health related illnesses on the increase, good nutrition is becoming more and more important for everyone to understand.

This course will give you an understanding of the importance of nutrition for optimum health.

This video workshop will provide you with the necessary knowledge in order to gain more energy and be more efficient with everything you do. It will teach you what drains your energy and provide you with knowledge and tools you can use to live a more energised and therefore productive life.

Internal Quality Assurance

This course consists of: Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment.

It is for those who conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process from within a centre or organisation. This will include sample planning, monitoring assessors and their decisions, advising and supporting assessors, talking to learners and witnesses, checking and maintaining records.

While stress can be difficult to diagnose and give an exact definition of, anxiety has a definition that can be used to determine whether or not somebody suffers from it.

This course will outline what anxiety is and the ways in which it can cause panic attacks. It will then explore the various causes of anxiety, including life experience causes and physical causes, as well as biological and personal causes, common symptoms of panic attacks and how people are affected by anxiety. It will then go on to explain anxiety triggers, ways of overcoming anxiety, and an overview of many things to help deal with anxiety. We will look at mindfulness, what this means and how this can help in situations where anxiety may occur.

Life Coaching

Coaching allows people to see outcomes of their change, before they have made the change. It allows people to challenge their own thoughts, to solve their own problems, to have the confidence to come off a pathway that is not working for them. It allows them to have the strength and courage to be themselves and know that they have control over their own destiny.

On this course, you will learn effective coaching skills that will allow people to see that they can change any direction that their life is heading in, just by having the right tools to be able to break their journey into manageable stages, challenge themselves, think about outcomes and finally REACH their goal.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP was developed by modelling excellent communicators who got results. NLP is a set of tools and techniques; an attitude and a methodology of knowing how to achieve your goals and get results.

This course will help you learn the essential NLP principles and practices and help uncover the important aspects of NLP and how you can use the techniques to help yourself and those around you.

DSE Awareness

Display screen equipment (DSE) is any device of information that displays alphanumerical data of graphics on a screen. Often, these are called visual display units, or a VDU.

This course will provide you with ample information on the topic of Display Screen Equipment (DSE), including knowing and understanding DSE set up, legislation, how it relates to The Health and Safety at Work Act, appropriate planning, how to carry out DSE assessments and improving wellbeing relating to DSE risks

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

Emotional Freedom Techniques is thought of as a powerful ‘modern’ energy therapy, a fusion of the ideas from the East and West. Although a relatively new discovery, EFT uses age old energy understanding and knowledge to release blockages within the energy system. These blockages are thought to be the cause of an emotional disturbance and can limit us emotionally and physically.

It will also explore the history of health and safety legislations, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, the ‘Six Pack’ regulations, Health and Safety Executives, Approved Codes of Practice, PUWER, PPE Regulations, COSHH, SDS, fire hazards, working with noise, manual handling and more.

COSHH Awareness

COSHH is the abbreviation for ‘Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health’. The most updated regulation is the COSHH Regulations 2002, protecting all individuals from hazardous substances within a workplace.

This course will teach you what COSHH is, some of the forms of hazardous substances that may be found within a workplace, as well as the identification process of these. The course explores the health risks of hazardous substances within the workplace. It will look at the common health hazards within workplaces, as well as the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR) in relation to hazardous substances. The course will conclude by covering COSHH assessments, as well as the reasons that workplaces must abide to the regulations in place. It will also outline the definitions of emergencies, accidents and incidents, as well as the importance of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).

RIDDOR Awareness

The term RIDDOR means the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations. RIDDOR applies throughout England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. It should be noted that in Northern Ireland, RIDDOR is somewhat different. Because RIDDOR is a regulation, this means it is required by law. Within this regulation, all deaths, specific kinds of injuries, dangerous occurrences and diseases must be recorded and reported to relevant enforcement agencies.

This course will you a deep insight into RIDDOR; incidents, dangerous occurrences and diseases that are reportable. You will understand the importance of this law and know who, what and where to report.
